Bit-Torrent: Seeds and Peers explained

So you are trying to speed up your downloads and heard about the BitTorrent thing? Well, let me explain you how the bittorrent protocol works.

So in a few words, someone creates a torrent file and it gets uploaded to any torrent site and registered with a tracker. After this, he becomes the first seed. Let’s say I download this torrent and start to “leech”  the files. I have become the first peer. After I get downloaded the 100% of the files that the torrent contains, then I became a seed.
In few words, a seed has 100% of the download, so he will be always seeding the file. And a peer is a leecher while he is downloding it. For the community (us, who use the bittorrent to download all sort of things!, like movie torrents, and such) if you do not share (seed :D ) the torrent’s files at least to a 1.0 ratio you became a Leecher. A BAD bit-torrent user .

Get a seedbox and go to private mode with your torrents

Hey there! Long time without post right? Well I’m back.. Today I was really thinking about getting my self some seedbox hosting.

I am really tired of the awful upload rates of isps in Argentina and Spain, only at most 30kb per second!!! I do want to seed more you know but also want those new chapters of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood or what ever would I find in my favorite torrent’s search engine. So seeding up to 1.1 ratio (I know, I am almost a leecher…) becomes really hard. That without count that now being in Barcelona, I mean in a country where things could happen, I am exposed to any kind of lawsuit and stuff.

So the seedboxes are a really great alternative. I will list some of those I am considering to get:
